Description

So here's my "step by step" of this work: fav.me/d9qdoso
Click the download button to see it!
Let me then explain these steps.
1. Sketch
2. Base colours: I'm picking random colours from photo only for a base, not too bright, not too dark
3. Mess: I'm picking colours from photo and putting them on these areas, where they are on reference, I can call that a "detailed base"
4. Blend: now I'm blending these colours together
5. First details: So here I'm starting with colouring and detailing it. I'm always starting from the eyes, then I'm colouring the areas around them, I'm doing nose, a little bit of those red light on his face
6. Lips and stuff: here I'm doing the rest of the light and also I'm doing lips
7. Now I'm going further- I'm adding the light and shadows on his jawline, a bit on neck and stuff
8. Here I'm doing a base for ear
9. And again- details, just like on the rest of this work
10. I'm finishing neck and face
11. Here I'm doing clothing, on the reference picture J-Hope has a marks on his hoodie, but I was too lazy to do them.. <D
12. Here I'm doing beanie
13. And again- base colours for hair
14. First part of hair, I'm using a 2-4px brush to make them as detailed as I want to
15. Finishing hair
16. The final product. C:
I hope that I explained it well, if you have questions, don't hesitate!

This is a really neat idea! I've never seen much step-by-step art, but I absolutely love all of them just because it's so neat to see the work as progresses and of course to see how an artist creates their work! ^^ For yours, I definitely love how detailed you get even with the sketch. I usually just make a rough and messy sketch and lineart but you go into so much more detail that it could even be its own work of art as it is! I love the progress of his hair and shirt and just seeing how much the lighting changes each step! :D <3
